Short Bio

I am an interdisciplinary climate scientist focusing on the role of natural and anthropogenic forcing in ocean-atmosphere-land interaction, more precisely on Monsoon – the most energetic phenomena in the Earth’s climate system using global climate models to perform various numerical experiments to understand monsoon teleconnections. I received my Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Atmospheric Sciences from the University of Calcutta and a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata. I am active in science outreach and uniquely combine my background in science and performing arts and spirituality for communicating the climate crisis to a broader audience. Other than scientific research I also worked in stage and film production as an artistic director, choreographer, and executive production designer for a number of notable Indian movies.
